The present research study investigates social changes through the lens of literature. Society and literature cannot be separated. Over the decades, literature has played a pivotal role in shaping society. The study aims to unfold the contribution of literary works in general and The Diary of a Young Girl written by Anne Frank in particular. Moreover, the study delves into the author's portrayal of memory and trauma as key factors in understanding her interpersonal relationships, identity and historical awareness. The major objective of this study is to analyse the contribution of Anne Frank's diary in raising awareness about the Holocaust, human rights, discrimination, oppression, and struggle. The diary serves as a vehicle to explore the impact of the harshness of war on interpersonal relationships, the psychological landscape and its consequences on individuals' behaviour during World War II. This paper contributes to shedding light on an in-depth understanding of a 13-year-old girl, Anne Frank's inner and outer world through her innovative narration style. Moreover, it examines how the diary became a landmark in the literary landscape that focusses on racism, discrimination, societal awareness, and human rights. In essence, presenting new insights into how literature can drive social changes across the globe.
