Drawing on ethnographic fieldwork, in-depth interviews, and document analysis, this article examines key manifestations of changein worldview, in ritual practices at the levels of the household, lineage, and community, as well as transformations associated with the conversion of a segment of the Hmong population from traditional beliefs to Protestantism. The findings indicate that these changes are characterized by both the simplification and partial secularization of traditional rituals, alongside the restructuring of the Hmong’s religious life and community organization in ways that adapt to contemporary socio-economic conditions. On this basis, the article suggests several implications for approaching religious transformation in a manner that respects ethnic cultural specificity, contributes to preserving traditional cultural values, and strengthens social cohesion among ethnic minority communities in contemporary Vietnam.
