Li Ziqi’s comeback short videos in 2024 became popular worldwide without any language subtitles. Based on intersemiotic translation theory and Symbolic Interactionism, this paper takes her videos as an example to study how non-linguistic symbols work in cross-cultural communication. The paper analyzes body language and visual symbols in the videos. It finds that her gestures, expressions and clothes shape a hard‑working and smart Chinese rural woman image, which is well accepted by global viewers. Visual symbols such as Qilin patterns, traditional architecture, red festival decorations and warm family scenes clearly show Chinese culture, including auspicious ideas, traditional crafts and family values. These symbols help cross-cultural understanding and arouse emotional resonance without language barriers. This study proves that non-linguistic symbols are very useful in global communication. It provides a simple and practical way for Chinese culture to go international in the visual age.
