Abstract

The ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine has profoundly reshaped global politics, bringing issues rooted in history, culture, and geopolitical power struggles to the fore. This paper explores the complex interplay between these two nations, tracing the roots of the conflict back to historical events and ideological divides that have persisted since the Cold War. The invasion of Ukraine by Russia in 2022 has not only destabilised Eastern Europe but also sent shockwaves through the global economy, disrupting trade, energy supplies, and political alliances. The conflict has reignited Cold War-era tensions, highlighting the fragility of international relations and the dangers of unchecked power. By examining the war's geopolitical, economic, and social ramifications, this study sheds light on the broader implications for global stability and the future of international diplomacy.
