Abstract

The concept of a green economy has gained global prominence as a pathway to achieve sustainable development while addressing environmental degradation and climate change. A green economy emphasizes low carbon emissions, efficient resource use, and social inclusivity. The present study examines the relationship between the green economy and sustainable development, focusing on the challenges and opportunities associated with this transition up to 2022. The study analyzes key dimensions such as renewable energy adoption, resource efficiency, environmental protection, and socio-economic impacts. Data have been collected from international reports, government publications, and academic literature. The findings indicate that while the green economy offers significant opportunities for economic growth, job creation, and environmental sustainability, it also faces challenges such as high initial investment costs, technological barriers, and policy constraints. The study highlights the importance of integrated policies, innovation, and global cooperation in achieving sustainable development through a green economy framework.
