Teaching professionally is merely tied up with challenges, especially when it comes to teaching bilingual classes in Afghanistan, where not only language matters, but also the content. This study investigates the challenges of teaching English in bilingual classes, including large class sizes, language-of-origin barriers, diverse student levels, pronunciation, and grammatical errors. Using a semi-structured approach, we interviewed 10 EFL instructors and university lecturers. The qualitative result indicates a substantial solution in which the teachers used a communicative language teaching (CLT), pair and group work, and many other interactive strategies can be productive. The findings of this study suggest that challenges in bilingual classrooms can be met and transformed into successful bilingual classes by granting them professional teachers, appropriate materials, standard classes, along with limited students in each class, and applying student talking time (STT).
