Digitalization of higher education in India is understood as a holistic revolution that has entirely changed the paradigm of teaching and learning from its initial design. Information and communication technology no longer confines itself to the classroom. Still, it can also be global, functional, and specific via virtual classrooms, self-regulating lectures, sociable postures, and open learning platforms. National Education Policy promotes and integrates digital education into higher education substantially and tangibly contributes quality and equity and access. The key focus of this research paper is to examine how digitalization affects teaching and learning in higher education. Then the findings of the research would reveal that while digital learning would revolutionize learning by making the process more student-centric: for example, teachers would not just deliver knowledge but become mentors and facilitators, it is also extremely problematic. It will also present the main problems that the digital approach creates. These are the digital divide, the lack of internet access, technological resources and capabilities, and cybersecurity. Moreover, if the appropriate steps are taken to overcome those problems from the policy and institutional level, higher education in India could be competitive, modern, and inclusive on a global level.
